About me

Dear reader,

My name is Janneke de Geus and I was born in a small village in the south of the Netherlands. As a Dutch citizen, already at a young age, you are expected to learn other languages, starting with English at primary school. At secondary school all pupils are required to take classes in English, German and French. The language classes have always been my favourites and that was one of the reasons why I decided to study Romance Languages and Cultures at the University of Groningen, a programme that covers the broader linguistic, literary, historic, social and political phenomena of the Romance languages family. I have chosen Spanish as main language, because of my special interest to learn more about the Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America and my wish to better understand the differences and mutual dynamics of this group of countries.

I have successfully completed the study Romance Languages and Cultures in 1998 and have an official degree in translating from and to Spanish. During the last 15 years, being a Dutch citizen living in a Spanish speaking country and working for Dutch organisations, I have also developed excellent skills in translating from English and Spanish to Dutch.

I am honest, responsible and punctual and offer all clients high quality translations to Spanish or Dutch.
